Hello everyone,

browsing the online shop of  major european dealer I spotted this nice rarity.

It was advertised as a common RIC 788, simply overlooking the existing aegis.

The obverse die is different from my other two "aegis" denarii of the same issue.

I'm wondering if some hoard of the period has been discovered recently.

Kind regards

Alberto

Or a sharp-eyed Flavian collector is really good at sniffing them out?

Bravo! A most excellent find.

Thanks Quadrans and David for the kind words.

I must admit that spotting new varieties is a major fun for me.

Kind regards

Alberto
