Coin identification help, please!
« on: March 09, 2015, 07:54:21 pm »
First time posting!  My boyfriend and I found this coin yesterday, and can't recall where it came from.  After some basic research, it appears it may be a byzantine coin, and we were hoping someone could verify this.  Also, how do I figure out it's value?  Thank you!

Yes, it is a Byzantine coin. It falls into the category of an "Anonymous Follis." A rather nice one. Try "acsearch.info" for similar coins. We do not discuss prices/value on this Forum.

It appears to be a Class A Folles' target='_blank'>Class A2 Anonymous Follis issued under the Joint Reign of Basil II and Constantine VIII, 976 - 1025 A.D.
