Livonian solidi under swedish rule
« on: February 28, 2015, 08:28:26 am »
Reorganizing my collection i am identifying some solidi. As far as I understand solidi of Livonia under swedish for Charles XI are of two kinds: for Riga and for Livonia in general.
I need a confirmation that ones from riga have the reverse with SOLIDVS CIVI RIG while the ones for Livonia have the reverse SOLIDVS LIVONIAE.
All the 4 ones i have have the 2nd kind of legend

That is correct.  Also the Riga has crossed keys on the reverse, while the Livonia have a rampant lion.

Thank you BIRDSOFPREY :)
Is it just my impression or the "Riga type" is much more common than the "Livonia type"  ?
