Zeus / branches ?
« on: February 06, 2015, 02:36:06 pm »
Hello,

a rather crude style bronze.

undetermined Greek bronze coin, ?.,
Æ16 (ø 15-16 mm / 3,06 g), bronze, axes (as pictured) coin alignment ↑↓ (ca. 180°),
Obv.: laureate head r. (Zeus?).
Rev.: PO - S / Z (?) , a bunch of branches?, a decorated trident?.

Maybe Celtic or a contemporary imitation ???

Thanks

The reverse does look like a stylised Trident.

Maybe a contemporary imitation of this Syracuse type?
