Dears Experts,

Would you be so kind to give your  valuable advise, what age and name for this coin, how rare is it and how much does it cost on the current market.

I've tried to originate it myself for a year and realized I need your expertise opinion.

These coins are coming from Austria, from my husband's grandpa, who found it in his garden in Upper Austria, Salzburg region by Attersee lake.

Appreciate your help!

Kind regards,
Natalie

Dear Pekka,

Thank you for your help!

Yes, I see, the second out of our three coins is definitely Galerius! The only letters differs. Ours are X K S and on the link, coin has X K A. Wondering if it has something to do with the coin denomination.

Cheers
Natalie

Your coin is from workshop 6   :Greek_Stigma: , while the other is from workshop 1  :Greek_Alpha:

Wow, I see. Any idea of the coin material?

Amazing how it made here in Austria from Egypt back 308 AD. Must be a long way by foot!

I suspect this is a cast fake.  Notice the little raised casting "pearls" on the upper part of the reverse

That and the strange colour of the metal. I suspect both this and the tetradrachm are fake.

Does this Gallerius looks like an ancient originality or modern cast fake as well?

Appreciate the expert opinion!

I agree, looks like a cast fake.
