Unknown reverse type ???
- D N PROCO-PIVS P F AVG
- SECVRITAS REIPVB
- CONSA
16-17 mm / 2,96 gr. / die ax. 11 h - 330ยบ
This reverse legend is not in the RIC, but there are Procopius coins with SECVRITAS REIPVB legend (See this thread: https://www.forumancientcoins.com/board/index.php?topic=16416.0 )
The emperor standing left, holding spear and globe, was minting several years before (with legend SPES REIPVBLICE, during Constantius II and Iulianus), and also was used in an aureus of Procopius (See http://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=673488)... But not in bronze coins, as I know.
Somebody have any opinion, or reference or other known example ?? Any help will be welcome !!!

This is what one seller wrote about his coin, hope it helps:
"Very Rare Procopius AE-3
This bronze of the usurper Procopius (365-366 AD) is unlisted in RIC. From what I have been able to discover this type did not come to light until the 1970s. This is perhaps one of the earliest issues of Procopius and his bust appears to be modeled on that of Valentinian I and Valens. Only a few examples are known.
The reverse is the typical Procopius design of the emperor standing holding a labarum or spear with his hand on a shield, but the legend is SECVRITAS REIP.
(Diameter - 17 mm. Weight 3.38 grams)
OB: Diademed, draped and cuirassed bust, right - D N PROCOPIVS P F AVG
REV: Emperor, in military attire, standing front, head right, holding spear in right hand and resting left on shield - SECVRITAS REIP
The coin was struck at the Constantinople mint with the mint mark CONSE. It is unlisted in RIC, but is identified as Waage #1764 cf."
I suppose if you look around on the internet you may be able to find another picture of one.

Mapila's coin, however, has a different reverse type, emperor holding globe and spear, and is therefore unpublished, as far as I am aware.

"Emperor standing facing head right, holding spear and leaning on shield". This reverse, as ponted by Curtis is "emperor holding globe and spear".

In the other hand, someone know the reference "Waage #1764 cf." to which article / book corresponding ???

Interesting coin you have and I saw this on Wildwinds for Julian II AE 3 and looks very similar to your coin except for the legend.

Finally... I have found another example from CNG and I think that the reverses could be from the same dies...
Looking at the obverse, I realized that de bust of CNG coin is clearly of Procopius... However, the ruler of my coin seems to be Jovian or Valens !!!

Yeah, looks like the die-cutter didn't receive instructions to cut the short Procopian beard yet.
