I acquired the below coin recently, and thought it interesting enough to show its picture. It's a slightly barbaric looking Antony LEG.XVII CLASSICAE, including a rather weird looking galley and rather erratic lettering and simplified eagle. At a weight of 3.73 grams and lacking any obvious plating breaks it seems at first glance to be solid silver, although it is possible that the edge defects (the coin looks exactly like its photo) suggest a very well hidden deep bronze core. I just don't know. I guess I'd say it is a Monday-morning die, from an inexperienced or hungover die cutter. But other opinions are welcome. It was very inexpensive; perhaps others didn't like its style. I'm happy to have acquired it, whatever it is - whether official, plated with 100% intact plating, or a barbaric silver copy, it's an attractive piece.
