Title: is this dirt? or am I done?
Post by: vacationchick on August 08, 2011, 03:58:11 am
I can't tell if this coin is done or if I should keep going?  Either the patina is quite dark, or there is still a lot of dirt on it.  Rather than continue and potentially cause death and destruction, I thought I better make myself stop...

There could still be a thin layer of clay on it from the looks, but I would stop where you are. The whole point of cleaning a coin (at least for me) is to be able to properly identify it without ruining it. Looks like that is where you are. :)
