Hi Jochen

I think this is Metcalf 130a, Pl.34 612-628, and he cross references it to Sydenham 327. I don't see any die-matches on Pl.34

Best wishes

Alan

Beaten to it.  That'll teach me to have an early night :)

There seems to be 8 variations of the Marcus obverse.  Yours being the simple "head right".  There were 17 examples found in the hoard - which seems to be the more common type.

All the best

Hi, Bacchus!

Which hoard? And do you think it is a hoard coin to?

Best regards

Jochen - I think you answered your own question with the google search in this prior thread:

Apparently (at the time of publishing at any rate) all but 4 of the above 17 are still in the possesion of the ANS (book was published in 1996).

I hope this helps
