I think it is Indian, but too far from my area of comfort to writ anything else.  I know I have similar pieces in the past.

According to the link below it may be a 1, 1/2 Dam or a Falus from the Mughal Empire of India. They were minted anywhere between mid 1500s to mid 1700s.
Falus ~  13.7 grams
1 dam ~ 20grams
1/2 dam Weight varies 9.50-10.30 grams.
