Nothing special - just a small jubilee. But IT geeks probably will appreciate this round anniversary: 16 = 24
The result so far - nearly 5500 different varieties (12 600 specimens) not attested in RIC VI and VII. Some rather trivial and insignificant. Some already published somewhere. But also many interesting coins which are to be found exclusively on NOT IN RIC.
Enjoy!

Before I specialised in provincial coins, especially Nikopolis, I visited this site regularly. Many thanks!

Thanks everyone for your kind words.
I wish that we will all meet in 2036 but it is probably the last such rounded anniversary.

Awesome work.
Though I can't wait until the day we can change it to "NOW IN NEW RIC EDITION".

Though I can't wait until the day we can change it to "NOW IN NEW RIC EDITION".
Something like OCRE (http://numismatics.org/ocre/) should be a new RIC. Fully illustrated, regularly updated and corrected etc. Paper editions are at this time obsolete.
But right now even OCRE is not as good as old RIC. Too many mistakes (http://numismatics.org/ocre/id/ric.7.cnp.100), too many incorrect attributions.
-
I know from discussions with the staff of Spink Books that a new edition of RIC IX is underway. But I don't know about VI or VII.

Another hundred. Already 5700 different types and varieties on "Not in RIC". Additionally circa 500 corrections.
All these coins are not listed in RIC (or at least not properly listed). Some are listed in later sources (sometimes in earlier!) but always with poorer pictures or not illustrated at all.
And there are also quite a lot of types which are listed only on "Not in RIC".

Awesome!

Thanks, Shawn and Joe.

More than 5700 types and varieties. Almost 600 corrections to RIC VI and VII.
-
Wow, that is a lot.
-
Statistics after today's update:
5805 unlisted types and varieties
584 corrections
More than 13 600 different coins illustrated

Great +++
