Hi,
First of all apologies I will add the precise size and weight when I get home but in the mean time I thought I would ask the question with the attached image I took earlier.
The coin I think is Ref Lucilla AE Sesterius, RIC 1773, Cohen 83, BMC 1176
Lucilla AE Sestertius. LVCILLAE AVG M ANTONINI AVG F, draped bust right / VENVS S-C, Venus seated left holding Victory & scepter. Cohen 83 but when I compare examples of this with my coin the AN from ANTONINI is seemingly together on the right side of the bust but on this coin it seems to be AVGAN with no M whatsoever. Am I missing something? Is this just a variant or have I completely mis-attributed this coin?
Any advice or help appreciated
Thanks
Steve

At this time the legend break has no higher meaning.
The legend is not LVCILLAE AVG M ANTONINI AVG F but LVCILLAE AVG ANTONINI AVG F, which makes it RIC 1772

Thank you for the help, it became really frustrating and the answer in hindsight is obvious.
Very much appreciated

Just as a matter of interest, do you know where it was found?
I have a Lucilla with an almost identical green patina ( but not as nice as yours) which was dug up in the UK....

It would be interesting to find out if they were from the same area..
Best wishes,

It’s was found in Salisbury, England

Unfortunately I only know that this coin was found in the south of England, but given the similarity in the Patinas and between the coins I wouldn't be supprised if they were from the same area.
Cool coin +++ +++
