Title: Very old coin found in Jordan
Post by: Maz A2 on February 06, 2019, 07:42:17 pm
Hi, I'm new here.. I think I stumbbled on a rare metal old coin.. I found it in Jordan, almost 3.5 meters underground... I could swear it is a king or knight ridding a dinasour. Please help me to identify which era or civilization it belongs to.. Attached two sides of coin.
thanks in advance.

Hi Maz.  I think it is an early Islamic coin imitating a Byzantine follis (M=40 Nummia), possibly similar to this coin, from one of the galleries here at ForumAncientCoins.  You can search for "Arab Byzantine Imitation" for more examples.  Not rare, but still nice to find!

Hi again, I found two more coins almost the same depth as the Byzentine coin.. any hint what civilization??  Some say they belong to Ayyubid dynasty (one of the Muslim dynasty)?? Appreciated alot..

N.B.the first two pics are for one coin, and the remaining two pics for another coin..

Hi again, just yesterday, and in this same pit 3.5m deep, and after a heavy rain, I found this antiquity, it definitely looks like s STAMP.. I think it is also Byzentine as the coins I found previously.. the weird thing is I took 5 photos for the Stamp and every photo looks different from the other!!! Could it be witchcraft thing??? Please advise.. thanks

Unknown material.. it is not metal.. when you burn it in fire for half an hour, it will lose heat within one minute.. light not heavy.. you can estimate its size by looking into this photo attached where my friend with his small hand is holding it after it was burned for half an hour.
