Title: Picasso and the man faced bull
Post by: mauseus on July 04, 2017, 02:50:32 am
Hi,

Those with an interest in the man faced bull may be interested in an exhibition of the works of Picasso at Gagosian in London until August 25th. It is called Minotaurs and Matadors. Matadors, picadors, horses and bulls are recurrent themes in the works of Picasso and he himself identified with the Minotaur and is quoted as saying “If all the ways I have been were marked on a map and joined up with a line, it might represent a Minotaur”.

Regards,

Mauseus

I see the inverse, a BFM rather than a MFB!

Is there any link between the Minotaur (BFM) and the MFB?  Different mythological and theological origins as far as I know.

But any Picasso exhibition would be worth a visit regardless.

Hi,

Yes, true; I was pitching at the broader appeal of the man/bull mix :-)

He did do some actual man-faced bulls!

I don't know if he understood the difference between the two figures, however.

Despite his talent and genius he was often full of bull in his self-promotion!

Wow that's inetersting! I do love art and interested in artists' lifes, they're so extravagant in their way of this world vision. I've recently been to one art exhibit organised by https://bstars.eu/ (https://bstars.eu/), that was a promotion of one unnown but very talanted artist! I think he'll become very famous i 2-3 years.
