Title: HERBESSOS Fake
Post by: Din X on February 08, 2016, 11:17:51 am
The dies seem to be unpublished, the style is odd (hair), on the obverse is written HEΡBEΣΣINΩN, I only know coins with EΡBEΣΣINΩN without H and there is a fake in reports that looks like an obverse die match.

The one featuring a man-faced bull is undoubtedly fake.

"The one featuring a man-faced bull is undoubtedly fake."

Thx !

Is this fake struck with modern dies on an authentic worn coin?
Or is the whole coin with its patina artificial?

Help is appreciated !!!!

Best regards,

I'm not sure if the flan is authentic (edit: but I doubt it).  All I know is the style is wrong, so fake modern dies.
