PAVLINA - Beyond the fact, of which there seems little doubt, that Paulina was the wife of Maximinus I, nothing is known of her, history being silent on the subject of Maximinus' marriage.
The coins, bearing the name DIVA PAVLINA, are all rare - There are no gold coins of her and the silver is rarer than the bronze. - The reverse legend is CONSECRATIO, and the usual image is of a peacock bearing the Empress heavenwards; or standing with it's tail spread. The exception to this being a sestertius depicting Paulina (or Diana) in a biga.
