 EUDOXIA (Aelia) was married to Arcadius on 27th April, A.D.395. The daughter of Bauto the Frank, she wielded considerable influence over her weak husband, much to the disgust of many high ranking Romans, particularly those in the Church. She was the virtual ruler of the Eastern Empire from around A.D.400 until her death in childbirth in A.D.404 (October). She was the mother of five children, including amongst them, the future emperor Theodosius the Second and his sister Pulcheria.

 EUDOXIA (Aelia) or EUDOCIA, daughter of Leontius, an Athenian, born about A.D. 393, married to emperor |Theodosius the younger| (Theodosius II) A.D. 421. Being separated from her husband, she took up her abode at |Jerusalem|, where she died A.D. 460.- The coins asigned to this Augusta are rare in small brass; in |gold| and |silver| very rare indeed.

EUDOXIA (Licinia) daughter of Theodosius II and Aelia Eudoxia, wife of Valentinian III, born at Constantinople A.D. 423; a widow in 455. She called Genseric to |Rome| to avenge herself of Petronius Maximas, who forced her to a marriage with him, after assasinating Valentinian III; |Rome| was pillaged; Eudoxia carried away to |Carthage|, but afterwards returned to |Rome|, 462, and died there. Her coins (in |gold| only) are of the greatest rarity. Style- LICINIA EVDOXIA P. F. AVG.
