Lucius, born 17 BC, was one of the sons of Agrippa, by |Julia|, daughter of Augustus, and with his elder brother Caius was adopted into the Julia gens, and at the same time into the family of the |Caesars|, by his grandfather |Augustus|, and was called the Princeps Juventulis (Prince of the Roman youth). His portrait appears on second brass colonial of Augustus (L AVG or L CAES AVG F PRINC IVVEN). Sent to the army of Spain, he died on his way, at Marseilles (Massilia), AD 2; supposed to have fallen a victim to the poisoning arts of Livia.
